Anatomy of law, land, and resistance — through an architecture of jurisdiction and control.
A final-year architecture poster exploring Jerusalem through mapping, planning, and the built environment. Historical timelines, legal structures, national parks, demolition, and proposals for Wadi Surbaher are brought together around a central territorial map.
This project investigates how Israeli planning laws—particularly “National Parks”—are used to freeze Palestinian urban growth in East Jerusalem. It begins in SurBaher’s Wadi, where land restricted for construction is set to become part of the Eastern Ring Road, interrupting Palestinian space while primarily serving adjacent Israeli development. The project proposes alternative highway routes and reinterprets their planning logic through equal planning rights, addressing long-neglected public needs. Extending to Al-Walajeh and Issawiya, it explores interventions within the legal and regulatory system to support urban continuity, spatial justice, and a collective architectural approach within Palestinian spaces.
